iphone x - itunes issue

so since the purchase of my iphone X in December any playlists i create from itunes appear empty on the phone or over a period of time 1 might populate on the phone. I dont use apple music or anything like that , and the music is there in the libery of the phone just not on the playlists.
I did a backup and restore yesterday and its really starting to annoy me how buggy the iphone X is, Has any one come across this at all?

just to add to this, phone decided it had ran out of memory it had filled its self up with system files on 1 day ! and then on reboot caused it to not load. Apple was called. we didn't restore form a backup and its doing it again and still have the playlist problem. .. the saga continues

Are you using iCloud Match by any chance?

im not even sure what that is.. apple replaced the phone and it no longer fills it self up with system . but playlists still show as empty on the phone and any playlists created on the phone dont appear when connected to the computer. its supper annoying!
