Hey guys,

I have decided to keep my XS Max phone, all working fine..apart from..volume..

It is quite quiet when listinging to someone on the other end..EVEN with the volume slider maxed out?

Is this an issue? Should I book into Apple for a look, or is it just the cararistics of the phone..?

Thanks guys!

I had this with my X. My screen developed a fault so Apple replaced it under warranty. I also mentioned the speaker and they said the likelihood is that there’s dirt in there. However the speaker is part of the screen assembly so it’s as good as new now. It’s made a vast difference.

Earpiece volume low? Get it back to Apple.

Quiet receiver is usually always debris, if it’s in warranty we usually just replace the display though unless it’s obviously filthy

Just off the chat with Apple. Apparently there is "no hardware issue" when doing diagnostic test.. and was to reset the iphone, which I did, didnt work, now I have to fully reset and then start from scratch :(

Surely it has to be hardware, will see how I get on, with this rigmarole, but has to be done I suppose..

Just go into store, Apple support can’t run audio diagnostics as they require an iPhone charging dock to run.
Unfortunately you got a new employee who doesn’t understand the generic diagnostic tool doesn’t check audio

Thanks, will head into Apple store and see what the dealio is!

Sitting having a coffee atm. Waiting for my text from Apple about heading to the Genius Bar to see what is wrong.

Definitely something wrong as before I got on the train I tried to phone the Edinburgh Apple store and I could barely hear the automated voice. And yes, was at 100% max volume on the slider!
