iPhone XS Max speaker volume issue

Hey all,

I seem to have a recurring issue with iPhones where after six months or so the speakers (both with media and calls) just goes so quiet i can't hear a phone call with a desk fan on next to me, both through the earpiece and on loudspeaker.

This has happened on my 7+, 8+ and now my XS Max?

The 8+ was replaced under warranty, but am I doing something to cause this? Is this a known issue? Or am I just going insane?

Whenever I get a new phone I'm always amazed at how loud the speakers are out of the box, but then it just slowly gets worse and worse?

Tried all the usuals hard resets, updates etc etc and still doesn't help...

Any help would be great!

No idea but If you live close to an Apple store take it there.
They'll run some diagnostics and If needs be replace it for you there and then.

Somehow your getting dirt in the receiver.

IPA wipe the earpiece and it will be fine most likely

1 in 5 of the devices at work get this, one had it 2 days from new. My understanding is they changed it (audio ic) in the X (we never had an issue with the X), but we had it on the XR,XS, 8, and 7 devices. I feel like im forever sending iphones back with audio issues.
