iPhone

Note: There's a legal requirement to sell it unlocked in France. However, they can charge any price they like for it. Could be good if you've got £500,000 laying around though. ;)
 
Indeed... I'd rather upgrade to a quad-core dx10 machine than have an iPhone, thanks :p At least that's the kind of money I'd be expecting it to be sold at.
 
Why dont you just buy the iphone here and unlock it using free unlocking software?? (Admitedly the current version isnt unlockable but give it a week...)
 
Just to be clear, I don't hate the iPhone or anything and I was talking about the retail price that the "official" unlocked iPhone would sell for :) I should imagine it will be a rip-off to entice people to get the contracts instead

Updates are optional anyway, just wait a week or so after the update is out for the new hack and you can update it. At any rate if I got one I'd unlock/jailbreak it - without it you couldnt install any extra apps - ie a very lame smartphone.
