Hi All,

Just trying to follow the steps required for my iPhone jailbreak, following the thread *** The Ultimate iPhone Guide *** i can only download the iNdependence file and the jailbreak file. I'm assuming i definitely need the 1.1.1 firmware first to downgrade my iPhone. Can anyone shed some light on this file please? ;)

Not getting a error as stated in guide, getting something like 1403 for example?

Sorry for being thick, do i have to de-activate the iPhone first?

It's very simple mate, just follow every step carefully. :)

Going to update that bit in the sticky as there might be more than one error message.
 
Plus the phone has only re-started to my wallpaper and i have to then give my passcode. iNdependence says phone is 1.1.2 and jailed etc.

Just in process of re-downloading the restore.ipsw file
 
I would completely restore and start again. Sounds like it's gone **** up somewhere.

Anyway i'm off to sleep, night! :)
 
Well managed to find something that maybe was causing the iPhone to not start the process and getting the error as i said, found to be the auto lock and passcode protect so disabled all of these.
I managed to get to the the stage 3 process and itunes upgrading back to 1.1.2 then all stopped and it wouldn't let me go to stage 4 of the process. Will try again today.


*** Edit*** Now sorted and installing all things i want to now. :D :D :D
Excellent piece of kit, what a difference the jailbreak makes being able to expand on the iphone's features.

Thanks Justin for your help, and for the tutorials.
Shame Apple didn't include a isight camera in the iphone lol.
