Bought a used I phone 4 off a private seller with no sim. No Service where signal strength should be. Inserted Tesco sim from phone that works and got signal. So went to my local Tesco for new sim for used phone. Still showing No Service after sim inserted. At a loss to what’s wrong.

Old owner couldn’t remember what network she used, whether it was locked unlocked last number she had, where she bought it from. She wasn’t much help. Tried a Vodaphone sim my wife had. Went into EE and O2 tried their sims. Same outcome. My Tesco sim out of my other phone works but not a new one from Tesco. Have been into Apple and they checked against imei number and confirms it’s O2. Wouldn’t Apple have said it was blacklisted??
