I've stumbled across this little application that'll check out the file system of your iPhone / iPod Touch and gives you access to anything you need.

Great! :D

Trouble is, I'm flicking around on my iPod, and the music is stored in folders like F26, F27, F28, etc, and the filenames look like they're encrypted too.

Is there a way you can stop iTunes from doing all that to enable you to drag stuff to and from your PC?

Actually I can already play the songs, that's less of a problem. The problem lies in trying to get the songs back off.

If a music player such as TouchCopy can play files by mapping their ID3 tag to the file, how difficult can it be to provide a solution whereby the same mapping occurs, but you're allowed to grab the files from the F26, F27 and F28 directories by reading their ID3 tags?!

Purely as an afterthought, do you guys reckon it's worth putting something from this thread in the sticky? It's just that I wasn't aware that any software out there did this yet, and as far as I know, nobody in here knew either! :)
