bought an iphone today, installed itunes (latest version direct from apple website) and i get the cds cant be burned msg which is irrelevant. I then plug in my iphone and it tells me I need to uninstall and re-install the 64bit version of Itunes. i have done some searching and as far as I can tell there is no 64 bit version.

Surely this cant be right and surely people must have the same problem as me. Anyone know a fix for it? or have I just wasted my time getting one at all?

thanks in advance

I cant get itunes to work with my Vista x64. Just says Not compatible with 64-bit windows. So im lucky i have XP Home on my laptop. But Apple really are taking the wee-wee with this one. They have had plenty of time to make the 64-bit version, but havent.

Considering the Vista x64 isn't supported with BootCamp either then it's hardly surprising it won't work.

It does say on the iTunes site which OS's will and won't work.

ok after spending 3 hours now getting installed and network settings sorted I then find out that Virtual PC 2007 does NOT support USB connections. It doesnt even recognise the iphone as a storage device when i plug it in :(

looks like i will have to either fork out again for 32 bit vista or use my expensive paper weight just as a phone until apple come out with 64bit support :(

iTunes works on x64 Vista for me. It just says that I can't burn CDs when I start it.

Hi - I've just encountered the same problem with my new PC which is running Vista 64 and iTunes and has a NEC AD-7173S DVD-RW SATA drive. iTunes works fine but doesn't recognise my DVD drive and says I need to reinstall iTunes - the problem is mentioned in iTunes help but the only solution suggested is to reinstall iTunes and get new drivers for the DVD drive (which don't exist as it works by default under Vista).

If anyone has a solution to the problem please let me know - I'm thinking of getting a new driver but even then don't know which will work with iTunes :(
