Hi all, im using iphoto 09 and in options I have told iphoto to NOT copy files into iphoto folder (I assume it just 'reads' the original files)......... now I set it to import last night off my external Drobo drive and came to the mac this morning to find it said it couldnt import because of a read write error, now upon checking my LOCAL harddrive (32gb free space) was showing 200kb free space , so I can only assume iphoto was attempting to use this drive for what exactly ?? - I have defo selected iphoto to NOT copy files on import, after a reboot the drive space was back to 32gb.

How can I import photos in iphoto then with this setup ? 2TB external drobo....and 32gb free drive space on my local drive - you'd think it would be easy wouldnt you, lightroom cope's with things no problems.

*sigh its doing it again !!! Stupid software, iv found a guide to copy the iphoto folder to an external drive....so I have to have duplicate copies of my photos despite me telling it to NOT do that ?!!?!! Apple sort your programming out !

Unless anyone knows where im going wrong ? Why is the iphoto library file expanding reasonably rapidly when iv told it to not copy files?? whats it doing ??
