Iphoto transfer to new hard disk

Hi all hope someone can help me -

I replaced my HD in my MBP and installed Mountain Lion.

I put the old HD in a usb enclosure and can boot from it if required.

I want to re-instate my iphoto library on my new system on the new HD

How do I go about this?

I could just drag the photos and movies in and 'recreate' the library, but won't this lose the meta data etc (faces etc)? How do I go about a proper re-import of the the data so it was just like as before?

You can move the actual library itself, it is probably in your old home directory.
