Apple. Form over function.
iPhoto is without a doubt the worst piece of software in history.

I basically have hundreds of videos in hundreds of different event folders and want to remove them.

So I create a smart playlist to show all the videos. Great.
Can I remove them? No. For some reason (and this is not just iPhoto it is also iTunes) you cannot remove/delete items permanently from a playlist or smart playlist.

The only way of achieving my goal is to manually delete each video which I am not prepared to do. Does anyone know of a script that will do this for me?

I am getting seriously P'd off with Apple now, this is no the first time their restrictive software has tipped me over the edge.

Cheers

Ok found an ingenious away around this.

Used the 'batch change' function in the smart playlist to change the date of each video to today.

Then clicked on the photos tab and sorted by data, voilla it let me delete them all instantly.

This is a clever way round the problem but my point still stands: iPhoto is rubbish.
