Hey all.

My partner has a mac with 1000's of photos on. I have no real understanding of Mac software let alone iPhoto. She is also just learning.

We are getting increasingly worried about losing all the photos.

How can I Export the iPhoto library ionto Windows.

I believe if you right click the iPhoto library and choose Show Package Contents there is a folder called Masters that has all the images from the library which can be copied and pasted out.

If you look on the app store, there is an app called 'Tutor for iPhoto'

I've recently purchased it though I've not quite got round to going through it all yet, I did buy and use Tutor for Lion though and it is very good imo, only a few quid as well :)

You could just backup the Mac via time machine to an external hard drive if you're worried about data loss? Should always backup, and backup again anyway :)

In Finder, go to your Home > Pictures folder. In there is your iPhoto library. It looks like just an icon. If you right click that, then Show Package Contents, the masters folder is within there,

Alternatively... drag photos from iPhoto into a folder on the desk top and .jpg images are exported. The only problem is if you use .cr2 or .dng then they won't transfer out as those formats but .jpg instead.
