BT IPlate - Do I need to bother?

I'm currently getting about 1.3mb/s download speed with O2. My router is reporting 1,243 / 11,733 kbps connection speed.

Now, I'm using the ADSL socket fitted by BT when ADSL first came out. I think it this one... http://www.bttorj45.com/NTE5 ADSL faceplate instructions.pdf

I've never needed to use filters around the house, as it's all included in that faceplate etc..

Is that basically what a BT IPlate is? Or would I get better performance by fitting an IPlate do you think?

Yes, except the iPlate fits over the existing socket making it is easier to install.

You don't need one as you already have an ADSL filter.

And I assume it would also the disconnection of the bell wire which seems to cause so much trouble?

So basically mine is an IPlate?

Best is disconnect the bell and fit a Filtered master socket (Master NTE5) Naturally otherwise use the BT option
