Evening guys, hope all are well!

I use iPlayer a lot to catch up on tv shows and unfortunately as the software stands at the moment, there is no way for me to work on one monitor whilst iPlayer plays maximised on the other. Is there any way round this at all as it really would be awesome if there was!

Cheers for any advice :)

Anyone, really very frustrating! The only way i thought that might possibly solve this would be running a virtual machine full screen on the other monitor but that is overkill for what i want to do surely?

Oooh, i have this problem too, i just end up not running is maximised :( Annoying as hell. I've looked but cannot find, there used to be an iPlayer software download that seems to have disappeared, this has the ability to play and download content, but also may fullscreen and stay like that. I can't find the download i think the beeb may have pulled it when they're website came out.

ive never used the iplayer before but i presume its set to run on the primary monitor. you could always set the secondary (extended) monitor as the primary, then run the iplayer. fromt here just drag what ever your working with onto the first (now secondary) monitor

ultramon would probably suit you as you can set up profiles to auto switch between settings etc

Easy way around this: instead of playing the file in the iPlayer IE window, navigate to the file that was downloaded: C:\Users\Public\Videos\My Deliveries\iplayer_live (Vista)and play it in WMP.

It'll then stay maximised whilst you work on your other monitor :)

That place doesn't exist for me? In public i have the usual documents stuff, and favourites and desktop (which are hidden). Tried navigating directly too, and windows didn't like that either...

Oh thats if you download the iplayer software to play it from your computer. I was trying to avoid that and just play the stuff directly from an IE window. Well ill give that a shot anyway i think. Cheers Burnsy :)

Oh i missed that, thats why i would be missing that dirrectory! I suppose i'll have to download it too, but the last time i checked there wasn't as easily available link to the iPlayer download service, that i could see anyway.

Just click 'download' on any program and it'll ask you to install the program if you don't already have it.
