iPlayer and WMP

I've just downloaded the Masterchef final through so I can watch some of it that I missed on Thursday, however I'm having problems scrolling through it.

I downloaded it becaue you can't view it ful screen when streaming and it's really small in the middle of my monitor. However, when I watch it via WMP 9 on my computer it won't let me scroll through the show at all without freezing, it moves the sound on to the correct place but not the video, which it annoying as I only want to watch about 15 mins of it in the middle!

Does the downloaded content work properly with WMP 9, I've never had any problems when watching other content?

Can I use any other program? I've tried using iPlayer to watch it but when I full screen it automatically goes to WMP.

Don't think you can use anything other than WMP. The content is protected and only WMP is allowed to handle them or something?

Darn. I did try to use real player and it started playing but when I tried to search within it it froze again.

Anyone else have problems when they try and search within a downloaded program?

Hmm. I used to use the iPlayer but I hate it so I just stream it through the site now.

Yeh ended up doing that this time, but the quality isn't great when viewing it at 1920x1200 :/ It's quite a bit better when downloaded.

But not being able to browse through seems stupid, not being able to stop half way though and go back to that point at some point in the future.

Hmm it works OK for me when streaming. Does take a few seconds to get there but it works.

Yeh it's ok searching when streaming, just not when playing back from the hard drive once downloaded.

Ironic that!

Would have thought the version on the hard drive would be quicker to get to a point compared to streaming a file off the Beeb servers.

Yeh me too, it's a first for me!

Mind you, I got 420 kB/s when downloading it which I've never seen from anything, getting 600 meg in 20 minutes is pretty impressive!

Annoying though as it seems a good service, but this just seems to be a simple problem. One that I've never had with downloaded content before.
