Hi everyone,

I have used iplayer in the past on xp with no problems, however with vista I am unable to get the videos to play

I have the download manager installed and it downloads the videos fine, if I try and play a video using the iplayer, the channel promo/trailer will play fine but as soon as that's finished and it tries to play the actual video I want to watch the screen just stays black and nothing happens

If I try and play the video directly in media player I get the following message:

"Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file. For additional assistance, click Web Help."

If I click web help it takes me to this page: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/wi...id=C00D11B1&contextid=216&originalid=C00D7159

which reckons the problem is being caused by my sound card driver:rolleyes:, which strikes me as a bit odd as every other media file on my machine has no problem at all in outputting sound

after looking around the net it appears that this problem isn't unique to the iplayer and it's down to the drm screwing up (surprise surprise)

I have tried resetting my drm, on the first attempt i used an executable to do this from netflix called resetdrm.exe and on the second attempt I deleted the contents of C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\DRM manually

after resetting the drm I upgraded the drm components without any issues,

however when I attempted to play the iplayer videos in media player I get this message

so far I haven't found anything useful on the bbc site, has anybody else expereinced this before?

iPlayer works perfectly fine for me on Vista. Not had any problems at all. Media Player did ask for an update when I installed it though, that worked fine.

Maybe try reinstalling iPlayer?
