iPlayer stutters and freezes yet 4K Netflix is OK?

Can anyone give me some advice on what might be causing iPlayer to stutter and freeze constantly on my KS8000? In both SD and HD?

Weird thing is NowTV and Netflix are both absolutely fine, in fact Netflix flawlessly plays back 4K content.

It's really frustrating because we can't get Sky (big hill behind our house) or Virgin (not available) and we've had to take down our Freeview aerial due to building work / loft conversion. Watching Strictly last night was traumatic for the girls!

Wireless or wired connection to the TV?

Wireless. Going to connect a wire from the router later but doesn’t explain Netflix in 4K. Having said that, according to some forums on the web Netflix handles lower speeds better than iPlayer. Not sure how true that is.
