IPOD 5th Gen, Cannot add music or files

I have a IPOD 5th Gen that suddenly decided to not let me add music or video files or any other files to it despite having 20g free on the IPOD

5th Gen IPOD software version is: 1.3

Itunes version: 9.1.0.79

I have the files in Itunes and when I try dragging and dropping onto IPOD nothing happens.

I even tried dragging from the location in my computer directly to IPOD and still it will not work.

Its set to allow me to manage my music and videos manually

Any ideas how I can resolve this?

I've never been able to drag from itunes to the ipod under devices on the left..
Is it even possible :P?
 
Yeah I don't think iTunes works like that, I thought it lets you drag into your library, but you then had to sync that library with whatever device.

You can drag and drop from your library onto the ipod, I've been doing it for as long as I can remember. With regards the op not sure why it would suddenly stop working.

Strange, i grab a song from my library and try and drop it onto my device but i just get this circle with a line going through it so its not possible for me

anyway going off topic ;)
 
no matter which way I do it from Itunes library to IPOD or from my computer to Itunes library then to IPOD, it doesnt work..

has anyone experienced this and can they help me resolve it?

please help
