IPOD 5th Gen, Cannot add music or files

I have a IPOD 5th Gen that suddenly decided to not let me add music or video files or any other files to it despite having 20g free on the IPOD

5th Gen IPOD software version is: 1.3

Itunes version: 9.1.0.79

I have the files in Itunes and when I try dragging and dropping onto IPOD nothing happens.

I even tried dragging from the location in my computer directly to IPOD and still it will not work.

Its set to allow me to manage my music and videos manually

Any ideas how I can resolve this?

no matter which way I do it from Itunes library to IPOD or from my computer to Itunes library then to IPOD, it doesnt work..

has anyone experienced this and can they help me resolve it?
