iPod album playback problem

Got an iPod Nano the other day and am mostly pleased with it. Hate iTunes but am starting to get to grips with it.

The problem I'm having is when I add certain albums the iPod is having difficulty playing back the tracks in the right order. One particular album it plays track 11 then 1-10 then 12-14, which is annoying to say the least. I've checked all the tag details and the track numbers are correct and have tried copying the album across many, many times but the problem remains. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get this playing properly?

It's probably playing the way the tracks are ordered in your library or play list, click on the column header for album title puts them in album order, then re-synch your ipod.

The other thing I've noticed is on a few albums (one I remember is KT Tunstall, cos I had to sort it for my sister, honest) the first track was imported as by "K.T. Tunstall" the other 10 or so were imported as "KT Tunstall" (no full stops) so it was playing 2-11, then 1. A right click of the track in question and then track info & taking away the full stops solved the problem.

Probably neither scenario for you, but it's worth a shot anyway.

Thanks for your suggestions. I checked the tags (again) and eventually spotted that, in iTunes, it was showing an entry under Album Artist and Artist wheras the rest of the tracks only had an entry under Artist. A quick edit and all is well now
