Hi,

Im thinking about buying a black 60gb 'video' apple ipod. Now, these are priced at around £200-£300, are they worth buying ? im assuming you will have to use there itunes in order to download and to convert to your ipod ? i was told there will be additional fees ?

Paying more money for songs that i already have on my pc and server doesnt seem cost effective. Is there a way that i can transfer songs directly onto the ipod ? (i.e, a software mod)

My friend was mentioning a 'creative' version, an i-river, but again i do not know much about these gadgets.

Could someone recommend me a type of 'ipod' where i can transfer any music / file (wav,mp3 etc) instead of having to pay per song via itunes by money grabbing Apple ?

Any expert help is much appreciated,

Cheers :D

As long as you legally have the track already then you don't need to buy it again.
If you've got the tracks on CD then you can very simply import those to itunes and then onto your ipod.

If you've downloaded the tracks illegally from Usenet or sites like ******** etc then again, there is nothing to physically stop you importing the tracks into itunes - however you are of course simply importing illegal copies of music which is both legally and morally wrong.

i think prices have dropped on the ipods too... get one they rock, i had 30gig of music on my computer (some legal some not.... if i'm honest) and it all just uploaded fine.
