I have got quite a bit of space left on my ipod after putting all my music on there. But it won't pickup any avi films I have. Do I need to convert them so I can watch them on my ipod?

What software will do the trick for me?

Cheers :)

Using an iPod preset in Handbrake is the simplest way tbh.

If you visit their forums you can get custom settings to play around with. Some posted favour quality over filesize, others favour smaller filesize at the sacrifice of quality.

Experiment if you're not happy with the bundled presets

I have had a play around, I did convert a film into MP4 format, then I went to put it on my ipod and for some reason all my music disappeared. Not sure what happened, and its done it twice so far. :(

Don't know how you managed to delete your music by adding a video

I have added videos converted by Handbrake (excellent app.) to my Ipod Touch with no problems.

Yeah its right weird. I have used handbrake to create a couple of films. One in an MKV format and the other in MP4. I-Tunes will not add either of them to my Ipod. I click on the ones I want to add, I tell me I-Pod to sync them and nothing happns, then I lose all my music

Are they showing OK in your iTunes library?

and I presume you have enough space on the ipod for the videos & its not somehow deleting your music to make room for the videos, although i'm pretty sure it woldn't do this.

Yes it shows them up in I-Tunes and I select them all and ask the Ipod to sync them, but they never get transferred over to my ipod. I have an 120GB Classic version. So far I have used about 25GB.

When I try to add the films manually, then it wipes off all my music and I have to add them again.

its right frustrating, I don't suppose I need to enable anything on the ipod itself to accept movices???

Cheers :)
