no mate does it wipe off your ipod when you put it on....its a new comp and everytime i have put an ipod on a new comp it wipes it before you can start using it

when i plug either of my ipods in it is coming up usb device not recognised...this must be a problem with the vista64bit op system...ive had a bit of a google and there seems to be a bit of a problem with it...ive tried all the suggested fixes but to no avail

Sorry i did not get back too u quicker m8 all i think it is when u download iTunes from: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ with Internet Explorer (32bit) it will download iTunesSetup.exe this will not work you have to intall the 64bit one.

To downlaod the 64bit one you have to use Internet Explorer (64-bit) and go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ then it will downlaod iTunes64.exeSetup then it will work np hope this helps:)

Actually that isn't strictly true :)
It doesn't care which version of IE you're using - rather what version of OS.
I'm using Vista64 both at home and work and using standard IE (not the 64bit version) I always automatically download iTunes 64bit.
If however I connect from my Vista32 laptop I only ever get the iTunes 32bit.

Yep I'm running Vista 64bit and itunes 64 bit and it will wipe your ipod when you get it to connect. There apps out there to get the songs off first, just google its what I did...
