iPod classic playing up.

Im not what you would call a fan of Apple.

I bought a iPod Classic 6G 80GB christmas of 2007, 2 months later it started playing up. It was getting gradually more retarded until 2 weeks ago it developed something that stopped me from using it at all; after playing 5-10 seconds of any song it pauses itself.

Do u guys know of any issue that would cause this ? would a relatively tech-savy person be able to repair it ?
Since it unuseable anyway I dont care if i end up breaking it further.

Im not going to spend any more money on it, Id rather just buy a new Sony Walkman.

It was still useable, would play music anyway. It was more little stupid things that were going wrong and when I asked PC world (where i bought it from) how long a repair/replacement would take they estimated 4 weeks, I couldnt be bothered.

Not recently, tried it several times earlier on in the year but nothing changed.
Ill try it again now (gotta install iTunes first -.- )
