Hi guys, I have finally decided to get an Ipod Classic but have a few questions for the specialists:p.
The only difference I can really see between the two models is the space (80gb vs. 160gb), is there any other differences between the two?
Also, which one would any of you recommend, main criteria is really just battery life and size, how thick is the 160gb version in real life?

Hmm, is just that I will be converting all my music to the apple lossless format (about 100 cds) and i'm just worried about space :).
With the 160GB version I could have ALL my music + all my films/ tv shows on it and still have space left but doesn't the player slow down the more data that's on the harddrive?

Thx for all the advice guys, have decided to go with the 80GB version :).
Will post pics and thoughts once I get going, quite amazing to think that this will be my first Ipod.
Also ordered a foofpod just now, gotta have some style:).

Well, finally got a hold of my new Ipod after lectures today and my initial thoughts are as follows:).
First of all, this thing is very thin, i expected it to be a bit smaller though but it feels good in my hand and the aluminium finish looks really nice.
I'm just wondering why on earth you don't get any sort of accesories with your Ipod, where is the install cd or cheap cover, even a crap mp3player gets a cover.
Installation of Itunes was easy, so is the music store, just click and you've bought a song.
So far, im impressed, no issues with getting it up and running, although I'd expect a company like Apple to atleast include more in the pack than just a usb transfer cable.

Lol, I shall make sure that in the future I will spell it iTunes and iPod ;).
Is there a button in iTunes (;)) that allows me to automatically remove dead files/files that don't exist?
Everytime I burn a new cd to apple lossless and remove the old files the files don't dissappear in iTunes.

Lol, might b so Marc, i was still shocked when i saw how much a wall charger was for the iPod, but a certain auction site provided instead.
After having had my iPod 80GB for a while now, I can truly say that I was wrong about my hatred for them in the past, they are great and does what i'd expect them to do.
Paired with a good pair of headphones and Sigur Ros, they just make my days soo awesome :).
Oh, and foofpods rule! :P
