ipod firmware update

Hi there,

Just in case you don't know, Apple has released a new firmware update for the Ipod.

http://www.apple.com/uk/ipod/download/

You'll need to have an ID and password though.

The page only mentions the following changes:

Volume limiter
Bug fixes

I actually find the volume limiter very handy, because sometimes the clickwheel goes crazy when there's an incoming call on my mobile (in a nearby pocket) and sends the volume to the maximum, making it a very painful few seconds until I manage to turn it back down. Shocks the hell out of me when that happens.

So at least, when I put the limit on, the worst case scenario is still not too bad compared to the uncapped maximum.

one of the reason I like my senn headphones, I set my max on that, but use the inline volume on there to quiet it down

Is the volume limiter limiting the volume to a safe level? Might sound dumb but I always keep my iPod in the middle because im scared of damaging my hearing :eek:

You can set your own volume limit, which is much more flexible than an arbitary limit that might be too soft or loud still for your own purposes.
