Ipod/itunes sync error

Not sure where this goes, kinda both related maybe i dont know.

Trying to restore my ipod with itunes i get error 1437, and when i try to sync music onto it i get required disk cannot be found. Tried all suggestions found through google searches and apple forums etc. Any ideas?

1) Have you recently dropped the device?
2) Are you using the most recent verson of iTunes?
