iPod Jailbreak

Can an iPod Touch on the newest software be jailbroken? It's currently on 4.0.2 I think but I want to update it.

Depends what generation it is? It is possible on all iPod touches but may be tethered on the latest firmware.

Gen2, don't want to have to tether really.

You should be able to do it without the need to tether... I think iTunes will only let you update to 4.2.1 on gen2 which means you will be able to use greenpois0n to jailbreak (untethered).

So it's as simple as installing it through iTunes then running greenpois0n? No need to patch the ipsw before hand?

Yeap, no need to patch, and I was wrong before, it's only greenpois0n that does 4.2.1
