ipod mini replacement battery

has anyone had to replace the battery in an ipdo mini?

if so how easy / hard is it to do.

As far as I know, you can't replace iPod batteries - you have to send it to Apple for them to replace it... I think!

i heard its cheaper to get a new ipod than a new battery fitted.

Look here , I was shown this a couple of days ago for My ipod video - but seem to remember there was a page for the mini also

I havent yet returned mine - but if its out of warrenty it will cost me as much as £80 to replace the battery , so not quite as expensive as a new one but not that far off

You can getthem from ebay with instructions and tools, as can you get larger HHD ect. All very very cheap from asia.
