Ipod Nano 1st Generation Recall

Got my replacement 6th gen yesterday too, it arrived before the email saying it was despactched :-) Can't complain...well i can :-D the nano is almost to small now, the 1st gen was about as small as i thought was practical, but do like the touch screen over the old toggle thing.

Just discovered this thread and dug out my 1st gen nano which is just a play thing for the kids these days really.. box now on the way from apple... i probably won't even use a new one as my phone does music well but I'm sure the kids will appreciate it..

would never ever have found out about this recall if it wasn't for overclockers.. big thanks to the OP

Mine was well over a month old. But if you log into the repair centre, and your case is still open you're fine. It's only if they close the case you would need to re-register it.
 
The only reason I sent mine back 2 months ago was because I knew there was no way they still make the parts for the 1G Nano and even then replacing the parts would be more expensive than just bunging a load of 6G Nanos back in the post.

It's been an awful long while since I've had an ipod, will keep this for the gym. Can ipods use drag and drop on windows yet?

You still have to use iTunes but can drag and drop in there :p*

* There are aplications which you can use to avoid using iTunes, plenty of them (fail to thjink of names right now) I'm sure there was a thread on here within the last week about it.
 
My 6th gen replacement arrived. The screen is glued on at an angle and llight is spewing out of the sides, it's terrible. In addition, the 6th gen is not compatible with sharepod or winamp and being as I cannot live with iTunes I'll be getting rid of this thing fast.
 
Yeah, I might try my luck at the genius bar. If I provide the paperwork I hope they can help me out there and then
 
Mine appear back today and its a silver gen 6 one. I didn't even get a shipping notice. Superb.
