Any 1st gen ipod nano owners have a problem turning them off sometimes?

Sometimes i have to press and hold the play/pause button numerous times just to get the damn thing to turn off.

So annoying and was wondering if it was a common problem.

Do you think people are made of money?? A nano for a small one is still about £100 - have you ever tried to earn £100? The player still works - just has a niggle... do you live in such a throw away lifestyle?

For the OP, as I dont own an iPod Im not sure - I thought iPods just turn them selfs off when you dont use them - try just putting it on hold - Id sugest going to a dedicated iPod forum and asking same question. Perhaps reflashing firmware might work?

Yeah, my 8GB Nano does that. Also seems to lock up a lot, usually immediately after I've had it disconnected it from my PC (although it hasn't done it lately). My housemate's 2GB also does it too.

Personally I'm not particularly impressed by the Nanos, it's nowhere near as nice to use and hold as my Mini was, the software on it is crap and it's actually less functional (i.e. you can't change tracks if you're on seek mode).

Ah, hadn't really noticed that. I was using some old Philips earphones with my Mini, and when I got my Nano I also got some Sennheiser CX300s, so it was a fairly big jump for me anyway!
