Most of you guys willl have heard about using Brasso but may be wary about using it. My 4th Gen iPod had a very scratched screen, not deep scratches though, so I took the plunge and got out the Brasso and some cotton wool. I only polished the screen and it worked an absolute treat. The really shallow scratches went after a few minutes and the rest took about 15mins with repeated applications of Brasso and frequent polishing. The Brasso did not affect the plastic and I also used it on the back of the iPod.
Job well done..it almost looks as good as new!

I've never even heard of this stuff. Where can you get it? My sisters Creative Zen Vision M is covered in scratches on the screen.

fine tooth pastes work just as well. its bascically how fine the compound is.

unless it fills the cracks?

Not tried toothpaste but read you need to be careful as some brands are to abrasive and scratch the screen rather than polish the cracks out.
