Hello all,

Simple question... Is the new iPod Shuffle the best mp3 player for the gym?

I can see all the pro's of

- being lightweight,
- small,
- good strength clip,
- made of alluminium,
- simple design.

The only Cons I can see is it taking 4 hours to charger over the USB - 3.5mm docking station that's included and no screen (but it will be in my pocket anyway.

Is there anything else out there?

Is iTunes as bad as some people make out? I don't want it to re-arrange my whole music collection and rename folders / files. I only want it to transfer my music to the shuffle as apparently there is no other way?

Cheers for any help.

No, its fine.

File > Import from Folder > Select the music > Listen to music.

Theres also a shuffle mix button for the shuffles, so it randomly picks some music and fills the shuffle for you, or you can chose a playlist and do it that way.

iTunes will only backup your music to the 'iTunes' folder if you consolidate, this will also set the file path to the new consolidated copy.

If you're after a screen though, get a nano, but otherwise I'd say the shuffle is very near perfect for the gym.
