iPod syncing problem

Bit of a weird problem. Recently, whenever I've plugged in my ipod to the pc, itunes has been re-syncing my whole library, even though I have added/taken away nothing and all the files on my pc have been untouched.

It updates ALL the files, which is infuriating if you only want to add one new song, as when I go to sync, it resyncs all 2000 songs.

Anyone know what the solution to this problem is please?

Thanks

Yeah.

Plug your ipod in, and select to view it in itunes. Then about half-way down it will say "manually manage music" and you want this to be ticked/enabled. This way it won't sync at all with your music folders. :)

Thats already done - so it only sync's the songs that I've checked. But even if I haven't played any songs on my ipod or in itunes, and I just want to put a new song/album onto the ipod, it'll re-sync the whole list of ticked songs in the library.

Usually it only re-syncs songs when you've just added to the library, changed the tag info, the rating, the artwork or the volume level thingy.

Even if all the song haven't been touched, it still decides to resync all the songs that are ticked

Weird problem.

EDIT: Thanks for the suggestion though :)

I'm a little baffled too.

When you manually manage your music, it doesnt sync with your itunes libary at all. They should then be totally independant of one and other. Then you just drag and drop your music that you want to put on. I've done this with all of my other ipods and never had a problem.

:o

I would restore your iPod mate, see if that solves it. Sounds like a software issue.

If that fails, reinstall iTunes.
