Ipod to itunes???

My pc died last month and i had to format my hard drive, this meant i lost all my itunes library, etc.

is there a free app which will transfer all my songs and apps into my new itunes library from my ipod touch? including the playlists's etc?

this is the biggest fail of itunes, they dont seem to understand that peoples computers die, or get upgraded and they need a copy from ipod application.
 
nope you have lost everything ive done this also, ive spent about £250 with itunes and when i rang them to ask if this could be done they basically said TOUGH!
 
There are 3rd party apps that can pull the music off, but they didn't work perfectly and ended up with strange file names, iTunes then did't recognise all of the artists and song names either. I've never looked for and therefore never tried anything that might do apps.

It is a long time ago since I tried it mind so things might have improved.

if any other company in the world did this everyone would be up in arms about it.

why dont they offer it? so people dont copy their mates songs from their ipod into their library? do apple know that if someone wanted the music for free it would be easier to download it than copy it from someone else's ipod, seriously they need to fix this, its possibly the most annoying thing ever.

I bought a 30gb IPod a while back that was loaded with tunes, I ticked a box to show the files & banged them all onto my PC, Then I synced with ITunes which wiped the IPod, Then I synced with PC so now it's on my PC & Ipod & I use ITunes to sync & make playlists. I found the method through Google & there was even a Youtube vid to watch.
What am I missing here ?
 
Just remembered it was Show hidden files I ticked then once they were on my PC/IPod when i connected to ITunes when it syncs it renames them all. :p

Heads a shed this morning so excuse the sketchy details. It's do able though as I am sitting here with all my tunes on my PC that I got with my IPod & i can now sync with ITunes without issues.
 
Just need to show hidden files and folders, and disk use for the iPod along with copy to ituens music folder then drag/drop into iTunes from the iPod. All the file names are gibberish but all the tags are there so iTunes sorts them from that.
 
There is a program to do this, that's what I'm looking for right now.
Wish I could remember the damn name of it :mad:
Nobody is mentioning it in here though for some reason.

More annoying is the the ones coming up in google are all evaluation copies which don't allow any more than a few transfers before it says you need to purchase it. :mad:
