Ipod Touch 2nd GEN Glass Screen

I have cracked my glass screen for my 2nd gen 8GB Ipod Touch and it is out of warrenty.

Anyone replaced their own before? If so where abouts did you buy the replacement front glass panel with digitizer from?

my mate sent it off to a company to get it done. Not known a single person do it themself.

Well I have just orded a new back silver cover, digitizer with glass screen, middle casing so will let you know how I get on. Might put a replacement log into place to show anyone else who is interested in this.

I've done it with an iphone 3g - it was a pain in the arse to get the glass off the actual frame it attaches to.... the glue is pretty darn strong!

Also the rubber seal around the edge is very easy to damage when opening it up. If you are careful though you shouldn't go far wrong!

Update, it was all going well and I was gettin the screen on with glue and ................................. the digitizer ribbon cable snapped. oops. Will get another one, took me ages to repair it though first time since I never knew where openings where e.t.c.

Now I know I think Is won't have a problem next time, so going to order a new kit.

£24.00 but got to spend it again to get another one, still cheaper than buying a replacement or gettin someone else to do it aslong as I do it right.

Replaced it with a new un-snapped ribbon cable! Damn, the glue is strong nearly ended up breaking another screen becaus the glue is that strong. You just have to be careful. I have even replaced the back silver peace! works 100% now as in brand new condition! Will recommend it if you have steady hands. Now to buy an X-Stand!
