iPod Touch 3g wireless capabilities

I downloaded the speedtest app for my ipod touch and I am disappointed at the results I'm getting. On a 24MB (16MB actually measured) connection my download speed reading is 3MB/s and upload is 600kB/s. When I ran speedtest on my pc (same server as used to measure the ipod touch), the result was so much higher, 15MB/s download and 600kB/s upload.

Is the wifi antenna on the ipod touch inhibiting the download speed?

Is the PC wireless too? Or is it connected via ethernet cable. Makes a big difference!

I have that app on my iPhone 3G... I get the same speed (7MB) as I do on the desktop version.
