iPod Touch 4G 32GB HELP!!!

i bought a ipod touch 4g, one thing i like about them is i have seen the popups that you get if someone sends you a email, these are almost instant but i cant get them to work

Settings > Notifications > "ON" > Facebook, eBuddy, eBay, Game centre = "badges Alerts Sounds ON"

Settings > Facebook > Push Notification > all "ON"

router is a Netgear Super Wireless Router DG834GT (provided by sky broadband)

any suggestions? thanks

I have them all turned off, including SMS indicator when I'm playing games, they become very annoying

I think they are great on iPod touch. Would like to get them working? How do I find out if my firewall is blocking it. FaceTime and ebuddy work.?
