Ipod Touch and Vista 64.

First up, i have my other ipods, (2 nano's, 1 30gb video, 1 shuffle) all working okay with itunes.

I recieved today my 8gb ipod touch, when i put it in, i get an error message up saying that I need the 64bit version of itunes, the only problem, it dosent seem to exist.

Does anyone have itouch working with vista 64?

There is a work around for iTunes and vista x64 but up till now there is no official release

Itunes works, the problem is itouch dosent on vista x64 and there is no fix or workaround for that. My other ipods work, i had to use my laptop to setup/charge which has vista 32.

How did Apple manage to get a 32-bit driver signed (unless it isn't) without producing a 64-bit version as well?

Or is it not a driver issue?

Im not sure if its a driver problem or not, its definetly iphone/itouch related though, since other ipods work fine.

It says "please install the 64bit version of itunes" however none currently exist. Bit of a bummer for folk who only have a 64bit version of windows or vista, im lucky i have my laptop that i can update it.

From the back of my iPod Touch box:

... Requires Mac or PC; USB 2.0; Mac OS X v10.4.10, Windows Vista, or Windows XP Home or Professional (SP2) or later; iTunes 7.4 or later...

No mention of 64bit Vista. Thats pretty lame to be honest.

It will be an issue with the HFS+ drivers that Apple need to install to read/write to the Touch/iPhone. The CD burning can be worked around, but the above can't.

Ipod touch works in Vista X64 now with Itunes 7.6.

thanks for that, i sold the pc with vista 64 on it, but its good to know for future.
