So.
I have a 4th Gen Airport Extreme connected up to VM Cable. Cable Modem is in 'Just act as a modem' mode, with the Airport Extreme being my router.
I've also then got an Airport Express (N version) which I connect to my mac mini via ethernet (first gen intel core duo 1.6ghz, only Wireless G). Signal is perfect on 5ghz and near perfect on 2.4ghz. On using the internal airport card its probably about half to near perfect strength
We have a macbook pro 7.1 (p8800) which has an airport extreme n card connecting to the 5ghz Wifi. This has pretty much full strength signal anywhere in the house, 2.4ghz or 5ghz network.
The problem is we have an iPod touch 3rd Generation (non N wifi) which seems to struggle hilariously to keep a wifi signal. It regularly just wont get a signal in the bedroom, and forget anywhere else in the house bar the room with the airport extreme in.
We never noticed this problem in the old house (3 walls and probably 20-25 meters between base station and bedroom) but in this house (2 walls, maybe 5 meters it just isnt playing ball.
We've got it upgraded to iOS5 in the hope there may be some code improvements but no joy. Were the 3rd gen ipod touch's just awful at keeping wifi signal?
