Ipod Touch Problem

Hi there,

Basically I ordered an Ipod touch 16GB on Sunday and got it on Tuesday. Its been working fine so far.
Unfortunately I have noticed that dust has managed to get in behind the screen, and its quite visible when the screen is on. Im not really sure what to do about it, obviously i cant get it out myself and im not sure if apple or the company i bought it from will do anything about it

Nothing should be able to get behind the screen, i would imagine it should be properly sealed leading me to think the screen on mine isnt properly sealed. So basically i want to send mine back to get it replaced, do you think it would be best to send it back to the company or to apple themselves? And do you think they would actually replace it or just send it back saying theres nothing wrong with it? :S

Apple should replace it for you, their customer service and warranty is excellent.

Ill have a look to see what i can do to get them to replace it for me. Do they actually replace it or do they repair it and send it back?

P.S. Just realised another problem, I have the £12.99 software updates installed on my touch, i shouldnt have to re-purchase them if the ipod is replaced will I? :S

From my experience they replace iPods, but usually with refurbished models.

They would usually replace it there and then if you take it into an Apple Store.

I wouldn't think you will have to buy that update again.

Hmm, just looked to see where my nearest apple retail store is and its well over 60 miles away from me

Do you think i would be able to mail it to them and have them send a new one within a day or 2?

They'll probably advise you to call the Apple service line, or you can do it all on their website https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do

Its definately dust, you can see it when the screen is off.

Don't worry about the update. Make sure you use the same computer with your new Touch and it will update your new one.

I got in contact with apple and they told me to contact the seller of the touch. Fortunately the seller was willing to replace it and a new one will be arriving tomorrow

I've decided im going to get a decent case for the new one. Browsing around now to see what's available

Thats what i've ordered

although it was quite tricky to get hold of for a decent price, best i managed to get it was just under £15 including delivery :eek:
