I have a 2nd gen ipod touch 8gb with a cracked screen, I bought it as faulty. I have replaced the digitizer this morning but the screen still doesnt detect touch, what else could it be? the home, volume and power buttons work ok, I can sync it in itunes and I have reset the ipod firmware.
