I'm looking at getting one of these as I can't get an Iphone :o . The main attraction is the excellent app store and the music quality (What is this like?)
Whats the battery like and is it in anyway inferior to the Iphone , as my dad (who has one) says that he cant use certain apps on it due them to being iphone only .

The battery is excellent, music is good (im not a audiophile etc), and i think most apps are universal bar a few which use your mobile network etc so iphone only

I've had a third gen iPod Touch 64gb for about 6 months now and it's one of the greatest gadgets I've ever owned. It looks slicker than the iPhone 3GS as it's thinner. I used to own players such as Cowons, Creatives, etc because I'd heard the iPods had poor sound quality in comparison. The reality is the sound is brilliant. You just need a good pair of headphones to go with one.

App wise, the only stuff you can't do on a Touch that you can do on a iPhone is stuff designed with a camera in mind or 3G (GPS). Anything else works fine, even mic based stuff as you can plug in the headphones with a mic attached.

The Touch is basically the best MP3 player you can buy. The iPhone is basically a Touch... with phone features.
