hiya looking for ipod software compatablie with ipod mini 4gb old version!

Transfers music to ipod mini
Tranfers music from ipod mini to pc again
and one for formattingthe ipod to the ipod fucntions

tried itunes dont like it!
also tried ipod updater sometimes doesnt always pick up the ipod

I don't know about the third option but I'm pretty sure that Winamp could be useful here. I don't have itunes installed (blerugh), and use winamp instead. It works very well.

I use winamp with the ml_ipod plugin and have never any problems or heard of anyone having there ipods wiped. I, personally, used it for about 18months - 2 years and i would never go back to iTunes

itunes can, if you don't unselect a certain option (sync?) if you connect your ipod to a mates machine, it'll wipe your ipod.

The other plus with winamp is you can transfer music back off even if ** computer has been deauthoriesd for that ipod. Like after a format, Ihave always had problems with doin that itune, it always to format the ipod after i reinstalled windows

Back when i bought my 2nd generation iPod three and a half years ago, the official iPod software that shipped with them for windows was Music Match Jukebox (iTunes was Mac only at this point) which was far worse than anything you've ever seen.

For that reason I got into using EphPod. I'm not sure how compatible it is with newer iPods but it works great with mine.

iTunes is one shabby piece of software at best IMO.

I think its a damn shame when people don't know how to use it and then **** it off. I even taught two teenage girls how to use it in 5 mins flat at christmas.
I personally use Anapod but only because I like File Managers.

??? He said nothing about him not knowing how to use it. But I agree with him. It's stupidly basic software which doesn't even have a stop button. Winamp is MUCH MUCH MUCH more powerfull and Winamp get's updated often. iTunes doesn't.

MediaFour (http://www.mediafour.com/) make a nice piece of software called XPlay that allows you to just drag and drop files from My Computer to your Ipod without having to use any mp3 players

IIRC you can also use WMP to sync the ipod

Another vote for XPlay. Best piece of software I used for the iPod and I have tried loads, even binned Anapod for it :)

iTunes works for people who don't know how to use a real audio prog,
use the winamp plugin tbh.
