ipod usb cable?

Are there any alternatives to using the apple one? i ask because mine has short circuited or something and i need a new one, not willingto shed out £15 for it!

I've used a cheap, third party one off eBay, worked ok with my old 3g Nano and my iPhone.

Same as with a normal Apple cable, certainly nothing out of the ordinary.

The official Apple cables are just normal USB cables with the proprietary connector on the end.
