I've used Winamp to sync/communicate with my 30 GB iPod video instead of iTunes since my computer crashed earlier in the year and I needed to get all my stuff of my player without iTunes 'syncing' and me losing everything. Since then I've simply been adding stuff as I went along and it's been fine.
Then this week I updated to Winamp to the latest version (I was getting a startup error with the installed version…) and today I decided to clear everything on my iPod and start a fresh
Now my iPod seems very slow, unresponsive and laggy. It takes a long time for it to catch up with my actions. I can select a song and it can be 10 seconds before it catches up on screen! In the mean time I'm unable to skip songs or adjust the volume etc. A couple of times my selection displays (doesn't play) and then just reverts to the home menu.
On the plus side I now have album art! I never used to get that before or with iTunes. I think it's probably time to update my unit? I'm still on the original firmware for the 5G units. I didn't bother updating because I heard that newer firmware's reduced the level of volume available.
Has anyone got any idea what's going on or what I should do to sort things out?
