Ipod video "squeeze" repairs

My 80gb ipod video seemingly stopped working last week, there was no sound coming from the headphones.

I figured it was probably the headphone jack but on further reading on tinternet I saw something suggesting you squeeze the bottom of the case and indeed it has worked.. something about loose chips?

Anyway, has anyone successfuly repaired this? I've jammed some paper in there as a temporary fix and it seems to be working but I can't see it lasting.

Do I need a new logic board?? Any other fixes?

best thing is take it apart and ahve a look, ipods aren't that complicated and there are lots of guides online.
