I think this is the right forum......

Ive just bought an Ipod and everytime i plug it in to the computer via the USB cable it knocks my mouse and keyboard off which are both USB connections, i really dont know if this would be a Windows thing or what but ive installed the software that came with the unit and am stumped as to what it could be

Its an 4GB Ipod mini btw 2nd generation if that helps

Cheers

Aye been trawling the net for about an hour and a half :/

Yup ive installed the software

And when i say knocked off i mean they just stop working no KB no mouse :/

All working fine until i plug the ipod in then they go off and the ipod has do not disconnect message on the display, its charging up but i cant do anything cuz it knocks them out

Windows XP SP2 all up to date normal KB and a Logi mx518 mouse

Really annoying me now :(

Been fine with it all in the past and im using the on board mobo ports, ive been using mouse/kb and a Sony Ericsson usb cable for my mobile with the same ports for months without any probs :/

Dont use IRC neither :(

Well...after lots of messing about ive used my USB ports that areon my monitor its done the trick so ill just carry on like this, cheers for the help anyway Marc :)

Ah good news. Just realised the iPod would be drawing more power through the hub/card than a normal USB device because it needs juice for the batteries. Might be an obvious statement but I am knackered. Perhaps the card/hub wasn't getting enough power to cope with the iPod demands for juice as well as the mouse and keyboard.

Aye maybe although im slightly dissapointed with my machine if thats the case :p
