just a quick question. i know no one can give prices or links to competitors but generally is there much price variation on the sale of ipods? freind wants me to find somewhere cheap on the net that sells them but ive never really seen much discrepency in price. talking about a 30gb latest model. cheers

Only way you really get much of a discount is by buying a refurb, or a discontinued model.

I think either Apple enforce a certain price, or they sell them to retailers for such a price that there's not much profit in it, so they can't really discount much.

I have a Saturday job with a competitor and what we're constantly told is that there's more profit in selling a case for an ipod than in selling the ipod itself.

Prices are very competitive with the ipod's. To answer your question there isn't much of a price variance with the larger retailers. It may be down to the delivery charge that determines who you're going to shop with.

I would replace the word competitive with the the words price-fix. Thats the way it appears to me with the iPods. And yes, i have the 30Gb video, and rather like it.
