TUF Gaming VG27AQ or AORUS FI27Q for gaming both are 27 inch and G sync compatable will be running off of a 2080 Super.

Any help would be appreciated

Would defianately recommend the pixio px7 got one myself after a recommendation on these forums and i cant knock it at all, some people have said its a little plasticy but thats really only the rear of the unit which you wont notice in use.Mine is paired with a 2070Super and freesync enabled no problem and gives me buttery smooth gameplay. Actually also the pixio has two display ports and 1x HDMI where as the Aorus I believe has two HDMI and 1 Display port, the pixio doesnt have the Built in rgb stuff but do you really need that on the back of a monitor anyway

What you need/want most?
If it's response times LG 27GL850 would actually challenge many TNs in response time.

But so far all reviews have mesured very mediocre even for IPS contrast for it.
So it wouldn't be good for dimly light room.
Those in your post seem to do better in contrast, while having more usual IPS level response time.

If you are set on choosing between the asus and the aorus i would probably choose the aorus but that because i have seen what the panel is capable of.

Pixie P7 is nice but for night time viewing not the best being it’s IPS. It uses the same panel as the Aorus IPS line.

im with this guy when it comes to Acer ^^^ Terrible QC I find.

I have been looking at the Aorus FI27Q and the Asus VG27AQ . The Asus has the best ergonomics but unfortunately it is an 8-bit panel and my Dell U2711, coming up to 11 years old is 10 bit already and can't see me going backwards. Then there are the LG and Pixio. I am veering towards the LG as it is 10-bit and can deliver them through 1.4 DisplayPort, which the Aorus can't. I am aware there is the Viewsonic Elite and the more expensive Aorus FI27Q-P but those are £550 and don't really see how they are worth £100 more than the others.

The Fi27 is a nice monitor I prefer the 240hz version though. I don’t think it’s worth it over the Pixio though exactly the same panel just different look and features.

Is there a 240Hz version? I didn't think there were any 240Hz IPS monitors yet.

The FI27Q is only £25 more expensive than the Pixio, well worth it for an extra year warranty and the extra features.

The 240hz version is 24.5inch so not ideal for those who want a bigger screen.

He does not need to do 240FPS to benefit from a 240HZ screen, just means he will not need cap his FPS to just bellow 144 or 165 if he does so now.

The Asus in the OP does not get good reviews everywhere (backlight bleed), I was going to buy the VA version but decided to skip it.

There are some 27"/32"1440p IPS/VA 240HZ panels coming in April/May.

my 4k and 1400 monitors are only 60hz but then again I am only using a fury and a vega 56. Up till now I have had the settings on ultra and so I can cope with 40fps as I don't tend to play many quick shooters (I am getting too old to keep up with young children).

However recently I have been wanting a quicker fps particularly when looking at warships down binocular view (in world of warships) - hence I have been reducing graphics settings from ultra to high and it has made a difference.

recently I watched a hardware unboxed youtube that showed for a 70% more pixels 1440 to 4k the fps only dropped by 20% and so there is no linear relationship between resolution and fps. However they showed that ultra settings really diminished fps.

I am thinking about getting a new monitor (>60hz, curved, 1440 res, and a bigger screen size than a 27" 16:9). I was thinking that 100 or 144 hz would be more than enough - and even then I probably need to buy a new gpu (like a big navi or a GTX2080 at least - which will cost more than the monitor!).
